MARCH 27, 2023 - General Meeting Invitation
Hello United Museum Workers,
Thank you to everyone who attended Tuesday’s general meeting! The bargaining committee provided an in-depth update on the current status of contract negotiations. Members from each component also discussed possible solidarity actions we could do to show support for our union and to celebrate all that we have accomplished.
Management’s most recent proposals still do not meet our needs, so we will continue to hold bargaining sessions, sign membership cards, and discuss the possibility of authorizing a strike vote if we do not see more progress in contract negotiations.
We encourage those who missed the general meeting to talk to your coworkers who attended the meeting, and/or members of the Contract Action Team, about the most recent developments at the bargaining table. You can also email us at unitedmuseumworkers.usw@gmail.com with your questions.
Next CAT Meeting on March 28th
Our Contract Action Team will host another meeting this Tuesday, March 28th, 5:30pm-7:00pm. Join us at the Lutheran University Center at 4515 Forbes Ave, across the street from the entrance to CMOA. This meeting will focus on building power and organizing with our coworkers. Help us brainstorm and plan solidarity actions at all four museums.
No need to RSVP, just show up! Invite your coworkers!
Questions? Ideas? We want to hear from you! Write to us at unitedmuseumworkers.usw@gmail.com. Our strength as a union lies in our transparent communication and shared experience. Let’s chat!
