FEBRUARY 24, 2023 - Sign your union card!
Hello United Museum Workers!
Union Membership Cards
It's finally time to sign our union membership cards! Join us this Saturday, February 25th at the Lutheran University Center at 4515 Forbes Ave in Oakland, anytime between 10:00am to 2:00pm. If you are in the bargaining unit, you should sign a card. The process is simple and members of the CAT will be available to answer your questions. Please invite your coworkers!
Signing this card ensures our protections as United Museum Workers. The membership card gives you a voice in our union, and therefore in our workplace. A membership card empowers you to vote on contracts, attend meetings, elect officers, and more! This also shows CMP management how strong and united we are!
For those of you who cannot attend Saturday’s card launch, we will get you a card soon! We are planning additional card signing events focused towards the North Side museums, and our CAT will be working hard to get cards to everyone in the bargaining unit.
Be prepared!
CMP management continues to offer insulting, divisive proposals regarding our wages and benefits. We deserve better. It’s time to educate ourselves about all of the tactics that are available to us to win a fair contract.
Join us for a USW Strike Education Session on Sunday, March 12th, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at USW Headquarters, 60 Blvd of the Allies, 15222.
Attendees are encouraged to wear masks. Street parking in Downtown Pittsburgh is free on Sundays.
We will also host a virtual USW Strike Education Session on Tuesday, March 14th from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Email [email protected] to request the Zoom link.
These sessions will cover:
Both sessions will cover the same information, so you only need to attend one.
Join the fight!
When we fight, we win! Our bargaining committee is made up of seven of our coworkers who represent all of us in negotiations with management. We can all support their efforts by doing our part!
In case you missed it…
We recently received CMP management’s newest economic counter proposal. Not only does their offer fail to provide a living wage for all of our coworkers, it drastically increases the insurance premiums for full-timers. Check out the details in the latest bargaining update.
Questions? Ideas? We want to hear from you! Write to us at [email protected]. Our strength as a union lies in our transparent communication and shared experience. Let’s chat!
