Subject: Updates from the Local 9562 Meeting
Hello United Museum Workers,
Thank you to everyone who attended our latest Local 9562 meeting. In addition to conducting nominations for union officers, we heard reports from our financial secretary, treasurer, and representatives from several of our local committees.
After the nominations, we did have enough people to serve in all of the major officer roles for the bargaining units and the local. However, we ended up with one nominee for each position, which means that all of the nominees would run unopposed. As such, our election that we had scheduled to take place next month is officially canceled. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to serve as election tellers.

Keep in mind that these minutes are unapproved, but we will approve them at our next meeting in May.

An Exciting New Event on March 24th!
Our last newsletter had information about the next meeting of our local’s Women of Steel Committee. The committee is rescheduling that meeting with the new date to be determined. However, there is another very exciting event taking place this Sunday, March 24th.
The United Children's Museum Workers are going public with their union campaign with USW! They are having a big kickoff event to celebrate and to ask the Children's Museum to respect their right to unionize. This is our first chance to support them! The event will take place at Allegheny Commons Park West on the North Side at 5pm. There will be balloons, solidarity pins, cupcakes and more! Please come out if you can, families most definitely welcome!
