Subject: Next UMW Unit Meeting on April 22
Hello United Museum Workers,
Thank you to everyone who showed up to the United Children’s Museum Workers kickoff rally on March 24th. Our fellow museum workers have announced their intention to unionize their workplace and have already collected enough authorization cards and filed with the NLRB for their union election!
Speakers at the event included representatives from the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, the United Museum Workers, the United Library Workers, and the United Steelworkers, plus the one and only Congresswoman Summer Lee. You can still show your support! Follow the United Children's Museum Workers @ucmwpgh on Twitter and Instagram. Good luck to them and Vote Union Yes!
Next UMW Unit Meeting on April 22nd
The next United Museum Workers unit meeting will take place on Monday, April 22nd at 7:00pm. This is your opportunity to hear updates from UMW leaders, ask questions, and raise issues happening at your workplace.
The meeting will take place on Zoom. Use this link to register for the meeting: bit.ly/UMWapril
In addition to attending the meeting yourself, you can help UMW by inviting and reminding your coworkers.
It’s still an election year!
As mentioned in our last newsletter, we will no longer hold elections for UMW or Local 9562 leadership during the week of April 14th. An election will not be necessary because all of the nominated union officers would run unopposed.
However, the primary election for state and local political offices takes place on Tuesday, April 23rd. So you should absolutely still vote later this month!
Questions? Ideas? We want to hear from you! Write to us at [email protected]. Our strength as a union lies in our transparent communication and shared experience. Let’s chat!
